Come to Mama! June Lust List
May 29, 2018Spa time baby!!!
June 22, 2018It’s Father’s Day on 17th June
[get it in your diary now if you haven’t already – that’s next Sunday!] and if you are anything like me, you may find buying for the Dads in your life quite difficult.
But there is still time!
Usually I could get away with something from a manual point of view for my own Dad [this was the guy that used to read computer manuals or the Screwfix catalogue when I was growing up and built a million desktop computers…yet he was a dentist] but that’s a bit dull. ANNNNDDDD I obviously have to buy Kristian a gift from the kids because they’re not old enough to have a debit card or understand the concept of buying things so…
Back to the matter in hand.
I don’t really know what men truly want on Father’s Day
…so I have drafted in some help in the creation of this post.
Enter my beardy, tattooed husband!
He has sacrificed himself/his skin/his liver to help me to review some of the products recommended to you below!
Beard Stuff:
Naturally this would have to be in the list…look what I’m married to! Here’s what he had to say:
I first came across this brand at the ParentFolk weekender held in Victoria Baths. There was a pampering area for [mostly] mums but I got talking to John from Harvey Nichols promoting David Beckham’s new male grooming range House99.
Trusting the words from a fellow bearded bloke, I gave some of the products a try. I know my beard oils and this one is great. The beard balm has a nice scent and good hold keeping those stray whiskers in place! You also get a handy comb too that finishes off the set.
For those dads with baby beards, stubble or clean shaven there is a House99 product for you. The beard kit can be found here, but take a look at the website for more.
What about a print?
I have been following Vicki INPOlife for a while now on Instagram and have her Evolution of the Boob print [naturally]. I love the idea of getting this print [which can also be personalised] and placing pictures of you and your dad around the font.
If you don’t fancy the print, I think you should still follow her because she is sure to make you smile.
The London No1
Gin. The best spirit there is [IMO].
If I were to buy a gin for a man then this would certainly be in the top three – not just for the look of it [it’s blue!] but also because of its history.
Its oriGINs [sorry] go way back to 1771 when the 1st Duke of Wellington’s London townhouse was built on the south-east facing corner of Hyde Park and quickly became known as No1 London. It became synonymous with refined elegance, culture and art which the distillers hope are reflected in this gin.
It is a unique blend of 12 botanicals and I think it is very manly smelling and tasting – when I say ‘manly’ I mean strong, clean, quite juniper-y and dry. It really is delicious!!!
Something to make him smell sweet?
This is an incredibly luxe addition to the list for the Dad who has everything and you fancy seriously splashing out on him! We received some samples from Memo Paris at an event a few months ago and both loved the scents [my favourite was Lalibela which smashed in my sink 🙁 so sad!]
Kristian loves the Irish Leather scent and I have to admit it is gorgeous!
Get him a new hobby?
If your Dad loves gin but his gin cabinet is overflowing with bottles, then maybe a book about the good stuff might be welcomed.
This book about the history of gin would be great or what about this book about distilling your own gin???
Give him a pamper!
Pampering is not just for the girls! Mr Tit loves a good pamper and he really likes this spa kit from Kedma.
The kit comes with a salt scrub and a body butter. The salt scrub combines dead sea minerals with natural oils [you can choose between a range of beautiful smelling products – we went with the lemongrass and you just want to eat it!] He was told to use a small amount and wash his hands with the salt, wash off and then apply the butter, which is rich in vitamin E and ideal for treating dry skin.
After he used it he kept mentioning how soft his hands felt, plus this supply should last over a year because you should only use it once a week. It doesn’t just have to be used for the hands either – a small amount can be applied to the face for a deep exfoliation [really good if you’ve got a beard too!]
He’ll love a t-shirt
Mr Tit got this last year! Slogan tees are in and this one is fab! Really soft material and great colours – you just cannot go wrong with a bit of grey!
If none of the suggestions above float your dad boat then why not think about making something yourself? Sometimes those presents are the most treasured anyway.
We live near a pottery cafe [if you live anywhere near Stockton Heath then take a visit – their rocky road slab is TO DIE FOR and basically got me through cluster feeding Rufus] that I take the kids to where they can decorate a ceramic mug, heart, initial, you name it!
Or what about making a photo album from insta pics? There are so many online companies out there who can sort this out for you…upload pictures and they’ll do the rest!
Good luck on the last minute present hunt guys! AND REMEMBER A CARD!!! AND TELL YOUR DADS THAT YOU LOVE THEM!!!
xx
