What the hell…?
August 22, 2018#BloggerDiningClub: Banyan review
September 10, 2018If you read my post about the amazing products we received from Woolroom then you will know that I was going to give you my final verdict. This post therefore has been a long time coming! [the old adage no news is good news is a great one here!]
So without much further ado, here is our final verdict!
For your information, Woolroom customers get a 30 night sleep guarantee with the bundles – we were gifted the king mattress protector, deluxe duvet and pillow set, and we also received the cot bed bundle for Cecily.
The Lowdown
We’ve been sleeping on/with Woolroom products since April.
I had been suffering from sleepless, sweaty nights due to having broken sleep [children]. Clearly it is entirely my fault because I chose to procreate but three years’ down the line I figured I would try anything that claimed could aid my sleep issues.
The products
I was a little perturbed by the thinness of the duvet when it came out of the bag – I was expecting something a lot thicker given that it was classed as a warm duvet, but I was not disappointed when it came to sleeping under it.
The pillow was quite thick for me but the beauty of the product is that you can add or take away the amount of wool filler to adjust to suit you. I therefore took quite a lot of the wool out and actually put it into Kristian’s pillow!
The mattress protector fitted beautifully over our Eve mattress and actually made the bed more cosy – like sleeping on a cloud!
Summertime issues
As you know, we are experiencing a heatwave [I’d like to call it ‘Summer’] and we are still sleeping with our duvet. Some nights it has got too hot to even have a sheet over us, let alone a duvet, so that has stayed at the end of the bed but we have still slept on the wool mattress protector and I believe it has helped to regulate our body temperatures too.
We’ve slept under the duvet most nights [which have still been warm] and I can categorically tell you that I have not once peeped my leg or feet out of the duvet to cool down, or woken up sweaty [I know, so attractive]. Kristian was the type of person who got too hot in bed, would fling the duvet onto me and then grab it all in the middle of the night when he got cold. This has not happened since we have been using Woolroom products. I honestly believe it has helped to regulate our body temperatures and this makes me super impressed!
You do not have to take my word for it though. Kristian wears a fitbit and it has been really interesting to see the results of his sleep tracking.
The Fitbit results
Kristian was the same as me – although instead of peeking a leg out the covers, he would fling the entire half of the duvet on top of me!
The results of his sleep show that whilst the length of sleep was the same (we go to bed and wake up roughly the same time each day), the quality of the sleep changed. Before, there were numerous times in the night that he would enter a light sleep mode or even wake from this, yet when using the products this seemed to reduce.
Obviously there is not enough data to rely purely on this but Kris does feel the same as me – that we have slept better since the introduction of wool into our lives!
Also…
During the 30 nights we had been away twice…the first time to my mum’s house and gosh did we know we weren’t sleeping with Woolroom products…The second time was to my Grandpa’s house – we slept on a blow up bed and made sure to take our Woolroom bedding with us!!! [I still had a crap night’s sleep but that was due to thinking spiders were crawling over me!]
Cecily has been sleeping with these products too. We used to get her waking in the night covered in sweat and this has not happened since. There have been a few accidents too [including vomit] and I have had to wash the bedding. I popped it on a wool wash and then hung it out to dry and it was as good as new!
Woolroom verdict: BUY IT
Yes, it is an investment but this is the sort of duvet that you would not throw away if your child vomited on it. For me, the change in my sleep patterns and the peace of mind that I’m not sleeping on an ever expanding colony of dust mites in my pillow, along with the fact that I’m not waking up dripping in sweat means that I would completely invest in these products.
Don’t take my word for it though. Try it yourself! [Remember that there’s the 30 night guarantee on them so take advantage of that]

N.B. Unlike the original post, this post was not sponsored. I decided to write up my review and therefore my opinions are my own. Bedding in the feature image was gifted by Christy and is the Haruki print [gorgeous too!]
