Sleep is NOT for Losers
April 22, 2018All About the Tits
May 4, 2018Welcome to May’s lust list! It’s taken us well over a year to get the kids’ room sorted. It has been painted and they are both sleeping in there with the furniture in the correct places BUT there is still the faffing to be done.
So this month I have decided to show you the things that I am lusting after for their room!
I love Instagram for inspiration [and shopping] from small businesses and the majority of the things here are items from small independent businesses who are on the gram. Go check them out!
Without much further ado, here are my top interior lusting after picks for this month!
My lust list
Cecily has already got some beautiful bedding that was gifted from Christy but Rufus still sleeps in a sleeping bag. Once he is out of that [which will be soon once the warm weather comes along…fingers crossed!] I am going to get him this bedding. The colour will suit the room and it will finish his cotbed off nicely! [Christy Junior Citrine Speckles Bedding]
I love having slightly eccentric things in my house and I’m quite into ‘fake’ taxidermy [not the real stuff good god!] We currently have a wired rabbit’s head to go up on the wall but I want more! I first came across Libby Bower at Knutsford Market and fell in love with her stuff! I am eyeing up the ballerina swan but the lion, the rabbit and the llama could also float my boat. [Ballerina Swan Trophy Head]
I love having inspirational quotes around the house and this is just perfect for a child’s room! I have bought from Amy before and her work is just divine! [Gingerhearts quote print]
Every room benefits from having a plant in there. Unfortunately I am a plant killer. I can keep a peace lily alive but let’s face it, four peace lilies in one house is quite enough! Therefore this delight could be winging its way to me soon! [Three Spikes Cactus]
I saw these at the Modern Little People pop up at the Parentfolk Weekender that I attended last month and thought they were gorgeous! [Diplodocus Night Light]
Storage. Wheels. Something for Rufus to drag around with him. Bingo! A Luggy basket!!! [Acorn and Pip Luggy Basket]
I am getting a reading chair upholstered for their room but we need more soft furnishings. Cushions. You can never have too many cushions and this one is so cute! Perfect colour match for the room AND gender neutral enough! [Kangaroo and Joey cushion]
Books, books, books. We have so many books but just do not have enough space to hide them. I love this shelving unit which means we can display the picture books for the kids and they can help themselves. I just need to teach them to tidy up after themselves… [Book Storage Unit]
These would be great as memory boxes. At the moment I am just shoving all their cute nursery pictures into an old shoe box on top of their wardrobe so this would be so much better! [Metal Storage Trunk]
I have wanted a wall hanging for AGES and the kids’ room would really suit one. This one from Knots And Yarns is gorgeous! [Macrame Wall Hanging]
A rug would finish off the room and provide a bit of togetherness. I have been searching and searching the internet for suitable ones and have found a couple that would look great. I am into layering rugs so this Cloud shaped one and this graphic triangles rug would be fab!
So as you can see, I could potentially rack up quite a large shopping bill! Baked beans for dinner might be on the menu for a bit ha!
