My Digital Detox
September 18, 2018We’re all going on a Summer holiday…to Corfu!
October 4, 2018Please forgive me for what you are about to read because I am in fact writing about the ‘C’ word.
Not the same ‘C’ word that may come to mind when you think of what may come out of my mouth but the CHRISTMAS word.
I’m the type of person who becomes scrooge when I hear Christmas music playing outside of December. My birthday is the 10th of December so it was always a rule in our house when I was growing up, that the Christmas tree did not go up until after my birthday celebrations BUT this is different.
I’m not really writing about Christmas per se, but I am telling you about some of the best advent calendars out there [in my opinion…if my husband is reading this then I would be well chuffed with any of them. Well, the ones for adult females!] and the reason that I have to release this post now is because I was told [by a lovely Jo Malone lady] that their advent calendars are released at the beginning of October like most good brands now and they sell out fast! So if you see anything that takes your fancy here, get on it QUICK!
Another thing…
Some of them are wildly expensive so I have tried to give a full range to suit budgets.
Also…
It’s October. I couldn’t have the feature image showing something Christmassy. It’s against everything I stand for. So you can feast your eyes instead on my scrummy Christmas fairy from last year.
My lust list
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Beauty Universe Calendar
£150 visit the link to register interest.
Oo this is exciting! I love CT makeup and the packaging is to die for.
The price tag seems quite steep but when you tot up the products contained in the calendar, it is well worth it. There’s the iconic pillow talk lipstick, the magic cream [which is something I love] plus the Wonderglow primer which was my go-to product when I had a newborn and wanted to look a little more dewy and alive!
Marks & Spencer Beauty Advent Calendar
£35 if you spend £35 in store.
This is such an amazing treat. Filled with products work over £280 including Pixi, Nuxe, Eyeko and This Works.
Good old M&S!
The Amazon Beauty Advent Calendar
£50
This quickly sold out but is due to be restocked on 9th October.
It is filled with 24 products from our most loved beauty brands with a combined retail price of over £195.
Green People’s Beauty Advent Calendar
£75
I have only recently come across this brand when I was looking for new organic mascaras. This calendar is stocked with cruelty free, organic beauty treats – there are 15 products behind 12 doors.
Jo Malone London Advent Calendar
£300
Ok. The price is eye watering BUT Jo Malone fragrances are unisex so both you and your other half could share!
There are 24 products contained in the advent calendar, including my newest purchase – the Oud & Bergmot cologne plus candles.
Soap & Glory It’s In The Calendar 2018
£40 from Boots
Soap and Glory is such an underrated brand because their stuff is gorgeous and I love their retro, cheeky packaging!
Ginvent Advent Calendar
£124.95 dispatched 15th October
Oh god, obviously this had to be in the lust list!
I love small batch gin. I love the different botanical flavours you get with these artisan products and would much rather drink them over ice than with tonic.
This calendar would be perfect for me!!!
There are 24 miniature gins behind the doors and everyday the Gin Foundry run live tastings via their social media and you can read interviews and features on the gins included.
Virgin Wines Advent Calendar
£79.99
This is a bloody bargain! Filled with 24 bottles of grape juice – 11 reds, eight white, one rose and three bubbles.
Pre-order quickly because it sells out fast and will be dispatched in early November.
If you like the idea of wine calendars and miss out on this one then Aldi have announced that they will be doing their wine calendar again this year, which is available from 4th November.
Personalised Christmas Playlist Advent Calendar
£18 from Mixpixie on NOTHS
Oh I love this idea!
Something different from the usual chocolate/beauty calendars, this is a Spotify playlist personalised advent calendar.
Each door reveals a Christmas track that can be played that day along with the album that it is from, then the 25 days come together at the end to create the ultimate Christmas playlist.
Maybe not the best one for the scrooges out there!
Letter Advent Envelope Bunting Calendar
£39.50 from Lime Tree London on NOTHS
This reminds me of the advent calendar that my mum made us when we were younger [that has now been handed down to me] that we could fill ourselves.
This advent calendar has fabric envelopes ready for you to fill with treats or festive messages.
