Come to Mama! July Lust List

July 10, 2018I love tapas.
It’s such a social meal. Sit down with your friends, drink [lots of] Sangria and share little plates of delicious food whilst talking and laughing. I just love it!
I’ll be honest though, lots of the places you find on the high street are mediocre versions of the real thing. Tortilla is usually overcooked and the octopus and squid are rubbery.
However the place we went to in Soho was amazing!!!
We were down in London to watch the Foo Fighters and decided to make a weekend of it with our friends. Friday night was to be spent in and around Soho [aha] so we were recommended Brindisa and oh my lord were we happy we took notice of that!
The company has been going for 19 years and first opened in Borough Market [which imo is a mecca for foodies]. In that time they have gone on to open more restaurants in London and they also have an online shop
, so you can continue the foodie experience at home!
We arrived and were sat right near the open kitchen.
Our fantastic waiter explained the menu to us and advised that two to three dishes each would be enough. Now, the problem with tapas [if there is one!] is that you just do not think that you are ordering enough. Panic always sets in with me over whether we will have enough food, but he said we could order anything extra at any time. Phew.
The food was freshly prepared and arrived at different points during the meal but we didn’t mind – we were too busy chatting and drinking jugs of Sangria!
We ordered a lot – I didn’t take pictures of everything either because…I forgot!
The next few pictures give a little taster of the kind of food we ate – we all agreed that it was a very instagrammable place!
As you can see – the food looked amazing and it tasted sooo good too! My favourites were the fig and the fried goats’ cheese.
It’s just a shame that Brindisa only has restaurants in London – come up North!!!
Honestly, give them a try – you won’t regret it.
